Description
KORI’s mission is to support young people to enjoy, thrive and contribute to the world as valued members of society.
Through youth work and creative facilitation, we provide needed interventions, training, project engagement, bespoke mentoring, counselling, respite, and the opportunity to enrich networks.
We serve young people from predominantly black, and minority ethnic communities aged 13 -30 years from across London. Working to support those in vulnerable positions, including those: struggling with education, training, or employment; that are care leavers, young carers, young parents, refugees, new citizens; and those who are in social situations that put their futures at risk.
- What will this involve?
Youth work and creative facilitation, needed interventions, training, project engagement, bespoke mentoring, counselling, respite trips, residentials and the opportunity to enrich networks.
We have 3 programmes:
- Not My Label: Supports young people from the beginning of their referral into KORI. Their situation is comprehensively assessed by youth workers to determine any needed interventions and a co-created personal development plan identifies their interests and goals.
- Blooming Minds: Ensures that young people are enabled to find pathways into meaningful training, work experience, apprenticeships and careers, that provide personal fulfilment. They are supported by mentors from industries relevant to their goals.
- The Vessel UK: The Vessel UK facilitates global learning experiences for young people, providing training in leadership and support to co-create socially responsible, sustainable projects.
- Who will I work with?
KORI consists of experienced youth and community workers, industry mentors, counsellors, mental health workers and creative facilitators.
